The 90mil soundsystem was concieved of in 2023 between myself and Joe summers. After enlisting the John, an experienced soundsystem builder, the idea could become reality.
Initial discussions were about what kind of soundsystem we wanted to build, (of course with budgetary limitations being a guiding factor). Would it be a large classic stack with Hogs, blasting bass through peoples bodies? Or would it be a wide, more hi-fi system that was fit to transmit the frequiencies of musicians playing live in the room?
The conclusion we came to was i think the middle ground. With the SCRAM subs, we had very low end covered that, with the correct placement, can provide enough bounce for a DJ set, but then with John's custom horns, we had a hangable system that would function well for live artists.
We could never have known that one day ,the likes of Moor Mother, Bilal, Alabaster Deplume, Floating Points and Theo Parrish, to name but a few of the more well known acts, would have played on this system.
I'm incredibly proud of us for acheiving this sonic architecure, that would be nowhere without the awe inspiring collective effort that is 90mil.
